Our research group (EMIB: Energy and Materials in Infrastructure and Buildings) leverages more than a decade of Life Cycle Assessment, Life Cycle Cost Analysis and sustainability assessments as a whole. We are well versed in sustainability instruments and methodology.

We can provide from preliminary market studies to valorisation pathways, as well as both the environmental impact and economic feasibility of proposed solutions.

The research group Energy and Materials in Infrastructure and Buildings (EMIB) is affiliated to the Faculty of Applied Engineering at the University of Antwerp. EMIB focuses on research in the field of infrastructure, buildings and industrial heat applications where quality, durability and energy play a central role.

EMIB is a multi-disciplinary research group focusing on the transformation of buildings, infrastructure and the whole built environment in a sustainable society. The built environment is the result of a chain of materials, companies and people and their interaction. Through research and collaboration with industry the EMIB research group strives to improve the performance of new and existing building stock and infrastructure. We focus on the whole life cycle, considering sustainability and cost-effectiveness, with a strong expertise in assessing energy performance, HVAC and greenery solutions.
