electronic waste, batteries, solar panels, materials characterization, recycling, hidrometallurgy, pirometallurgy
Topic 2 – Targeting secondary sources to enhance access to raw materials
We are interested in seeking partners (companies, universities, research centers) to form a research consortium. We have experience with recycling processes for various types of electronic waste (smartphones, solar panels, lithium batteries, rare-earth magnets, printed circuit boards, etc.), including mechanical processing, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, and hybrid processes.
We are a research laboratory (Lacor) within the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), located in southern Brazil. UFRGS is one of the largest and most important universities in Brazil.
