Our research addresses economic, social and environmental sustainability across different stages of the value chain, from a Social Sciences and Humanities perspective.

ECOBAS's members are partners in TiBeRIUM (Titanium and Beryllium for European Resilience and Innovative Utilization of Minerals), a Horizon Europe project (€8.5M, 2026–2030) covering the full raw materials value chain, from extraction to advanced material production, where we monitor the project's alignment with EU sustainability criteria, including circular economy — also one of ECOBAS's core research priorities.

Description of your organisation

ECOBAS is an interuniversity research centre uniting more than 120 researchers from the universities of A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela and Vigo (Galicia, northwest Spain). We work transdisciplinarily on economic, social and environmental sustainability, from a Social Sciences and Humanities perspective, with an established track record in EU-funded research, including ongoing participation in several Horizon Europe projects.
