Topic 5 – Putting Circular Economy Ambitions into Action
Our research addresses economic, social and environmental sustainability across different stages of the value chain, from a Social Sciences and Humanities perspective.
ECOBAS's members are partners in TiBeRIUM (Titanium and Beryllium for European Resilience and Innovative Utilization of Minerals), a Horizon Europe project (€8.5M, 2026–2030) covering the full raw materials value chain, from extraction to advanced material production, where we monitor the project's alignment with EU sustainability criteria, including its regulatory and governance dimensions. Circular economy is also one of ECOBAS's core priorities, and we run a Master's Degree in Circular Economy.
ECOBAS is an interuniversity research centre uniting more than 120 researchers from the universities of A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela and Vigo (Galicia, northwest Spain). We work transdisciplinarily on economic, social and environmental sustainability, from a Social Sciences and Humanities perspective, with an established track record in EU-funded research, including ongoing participation in several Horizon Europe projects.
