Topic 2 – Targeting secondary sources to enhance access to raw materials
We are seeking partners to join the consortium for our proposal in the Topic 2.
The project focuses on the recovery and reuse of the CRMs from waste batteries.
Confirmed partners:
1. Łukasiewicz - KIT (research organisation, Poland) - recovery of CRMs from waste batteries.
2. Amazemet (industry, Poland) - atomization and powder preparation from recovered metals.
We are particularly looking for partners that can cover one or more of the following:
- LCA/TEA assessement
- AI modelling
- Advanced materials characterization (TEM, XPS, ICP-MS mainly).
- (optionally): industrial partners for material supply and/or scale-up validation of the technology

Łukasiewicz - KIT is a research organisation in Poland, which closely collaborates with the industry to implement new technologies and/or improve the existing ones. The institute possesses laboratories to perform lab-scale and pilot-scale research, targeting many sectors, including energy, fuel, metallurgy, aviation, automotive, smelting, or medical equipment.
The Energy Storage Tech group, with Dr. Jędrzej Piątek as the lead, focuses on research and development of Li-ion and Zn-ion batteries, waste battery recycling and electrochemical processes. The group collaborates with the industry and academic partners from Poland, Germany, Lithuania, USA and the UK, currently coordinating 2 international research projects and several national.
