Topic 3 – Efficient and effective use of raw materials in design and production
TEMA (University of Aveiro) seeks to join as a research/technology partner contributing with wire-DED additive manufacturing facility of steel/mild steel/Inconel/copper/titanium/aluminum alloys, and functionally graded metal (FGM) structure printing. Also mechanical testing (nano-to-macro, up to 1,000 kN, fatigue), UHV surface analysis (XPS/UPS/AES), welding/joining (electron beam, robotic laser, MIG/MAG, ultrasonic. We are available to support work packages on materials characterisation, process optimisation, digital-twin/industrial automation, and circular-economy/resource-efficiency solutions for advanced metallic alloys.
TEMA – Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation – is a Research and Development Unit established in 1996, hosted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. Ranked as the top-evaluated research centre in Mechanical Engineering in Portugal, TEMA's mission is to promote scientific and technological research of excellence closely aligned with the needs of society and national industry. The centre is organised into six research groups: advanced mechanical engineering, applied energy, biomechanics, simulation software development, nanoengineering, and transport technologies, combining fundamental and applied research with technology transfer, consultancy, and testing services for industry.
