We are interested in joining or building a RAMP consortium aimed for "Topic 3 - Efficient and effective use of raw materials in design and production"

Efficient production processes and technologies, for example ones that minimise RM use and losses; substitute CRM with more commonly accessible materials; use waste from one process as input for another process; enable more efficient use of water, energy and other inputs; and reduce adverse social and environmental impacts. The processes or technologies should exploit, as relevant, the full potential of AI, machine learning and other digital tools, e.g. for monitoring material cycles, tracking and tracing, etc.

Innovative product design, for example to facilitate the substitution of critical raw materials; increase the use of secondary raw materials; and modular product architecture as well as the use of easily separable material composites to enable
reuse, repair, and recycling. Innovations in design should exploit the full potential of digital tools such as AI and machine learning, as well as other relevant tools, e.g. for assessing the social and environmental impacts over product lifecycles.

Birinci Otomotiv is an automotive Tier 1 supplier for major European automotive manufacturers such as Volkswagen AG, Mercedes-Benz Group, along with US manufacturer Ford Motor Company. The company is located in Kocaeli Türkiye, along with TAYSAD (Automotive Suppliers Association of Türkiye), the hub of the Turkish automotive industry. Its production activities are mainly forging, machining and assembly.

With more than 25 forging presses of various sizes (up to 4000 tonnes), and more than 100 CNC machines along with fine grinding, broaching, friction welding, robotic welding, EDM machines and such, Birinci conducts energy- and material-intensive processes.
