Topic 2 – Targeting secondary sources to enhance access to raw materials
GTE is primarily seeking to join international research and innovation consortia addressing Topic 2, with a focus on the recovery, valorisation and reintegration of secondary raw materials into industrial value chains.
GTE is particularly interested in projects that aim to:
• Recover valuable materials from industrial waste, end of life products, urban waste, mining waste and other secondary sources
• Develop and assess waste valorisation, recycling and resource recovery pathways
• Support the reintegration of secondary materials into manufacturing and production value chains
• Evaluate the environmental, circularity and economic performance of recovery, recycling and processing technologies
• Apply Life Cycle Assessment, material flow analysis, circularity indicators and scenario assessment to optimise material recovery systems
• Assess technical and economic feasibility, market potential and scale up prospects
• Develop industrial symbiosis models connecting waste generators, recyclers, processors and material users
While Topic 2 represents GTE’s primary area of interest, the company is also open to contributing to projects under other RAMP topics where expertise in Life Cycle Assessment, resource efficiency, circularity assessment, industrial symbiosis, techno economic assessment, value chain analysis, environmental impact assessment and market uptake is required.
