Topic 2 – Targeting secondary sources to enhance access to raw materials
IREM is particularly interested in contributing as Partner to RAMP projects in the field of NORM recovery, with a focus on the safe, efficient and economically viable recovery of valuable resources from naturally occurring radioactive materials.
In addition, IREM can contribute interdisciplinary expertise in the development and assessment of economic models, economic analyses and cost calculations. This includes evaluating the economic feasibility of innovative recovery processes and supporting the development of sustainable business and management models.
We are open to discussing project ideas and potential cooperation opportunities. We would be happy to hear about your ideas and explore together, in a conversation, whether and how IREM could contribute to your project. The scope of cooperation can be discussed and defined based on the specific needs and objectives of the project.
IREM gGmbH (Institute for Resource Engineering and Management) is an industry-oriented research institute specializing in water, resource recovery and circular economy. Building on internationally recognized expertise in water and environmental research, the IREM-Team develops and supports practical, economically viable and environmentally sustainable solutions for the recovery and reuse of water, materials and energy from liquid and solid resources.
A particular strength of IREM is the combination of scientific expertise, practical technology development and management know-how. Through its network of universities, companies and other research partners, IREM contributes to interdisciplinary projects at the interface of water, materials, energy, agriculture, health and other sustainability-related sectors.
IREM also has unique expertise and the required certifications and regulatory approvals for handling naturally occurring, low-level radioactive materials, opening up opportunities for the recovery of previously underutilized secondary raw materials.
IREM is looking to contribute its expertise in resource-efficient technologies, resource recovery, water and materials management, and the practical implementation of innovative solutions to collaborative R&D projects such as RAMP.
