Topic 3 – Efficient and effective use of raw materials in design and production
Zamia Composite is building an international consortium for a RAMP 2026 Topic 3 project focused on transforming agro-industrial residues into standardised secondary raw materials for resource-efficient polymer manufacturing.
The proposed project aims to develop scalable processing and standardisation routes for lignocellulosic residues, high-filled polymer masterbatches, and industrial demonstrators. A digital approach will also be developed to link feedstock characteristics, formulation, processing parameters and final material performance, addressing the variability of secondary bio-based raw materials.
We are seeking partners from RAMP participating countries, particularly:
-industrial polymer converters/end-users for validation and demonstration;
-partners with expertise in AI, data-driven modelling, digital twins or material traceability;
-organisations with expertise in LCA, circularity and techno-economic assessment;
-agro-industrial partners providing relevant secondary raw-material streams.
Zamia Composite intends to contribute biomass upgrading, polymer compounding, masterbatch development, material characterisation, process optimisation and scale-up. We are open to discussing consortium structure, technical roles and joint development of the proposal.
Zamia Composite is a Türkiye-based materials technology SME specialising in the development of sustainable polymer compounds and biocomposites from agro-industrial residues.
The company develops value-added secondary raw materials by combining biomass preparation and upgrading, particle-size control, polymer compounding and formulation engineering. Its R&D activities focus on the utilisation of lignocellulosic residues such as nut shells and other agricultural by-products as functional fillers in thermoplastic materials.
Zamia Composite has in-house capabilities for biomass milling and preparation, twin-screw extrusion and polymer compounding, masterbatch and granule development, and pilot-scale material production. The company works closely with academic and industrial partners for advanced material characterisation, injection moulding and application validation.
Zamia's main expertise includes polymer composites, biocomposites, secondary raw-material valorisation, high-filled compounds, sustainable materials, extrusion and compounding, resource-efficient manufacturing and circular material solutions.
The company aims to bridge research and industrial implementation by transforming underutilised agro-industrial residues into scalable and commercially relevant raw-material solutions for polymer applications.
