Topic 3 – Efficient and effective use of raw materials in design and production
Istanbul Nişantaşı University is interested in joining a transnational consortium as a research partner under Topic 3. Our expertise covers textile and polymeric materials, fibrous structures, nonwovens and material characterization, with particular interest in circular and resource-efficient textile applications.
We can contribute to projects addressing recycled and alternative polymeric raw materials, design-for-recycling strategies, development and evaluation of textile and fibrous structures, and material–process–performance relationships. The research team has experience in fibre and nonwoven processing and in characterization techniques including SEM, FTIR, DSC and mechanical testing.
We are particularly interested in collaborating with industrial and academic partners working on textile recycling, secondary polymer feedstocks, resource-efficient textile production, circular product design and recyclable textile structures.
We are open to joining an existing consortium through clearly defined research tasks or work packages, particularly in material selection and characterization, textile and fibrous structure development and evaluation, design-for-recycling approaches, data analysis, and dissemination and training activities.
Istanbul Nişantaşı University is a higher education institution in Türkiye with educational and research activities across engineering, design, art and applied sciences. The Department of Textile and Fashion Design provides an interdisciplinary environment connecting textile materials, product development, sustainability and circular design.
The research team brings expertise in textile and polymeric materials, fibrous structures, nonwoven technologies, recycled and biodegradable polymers, sustainable textile development, design for recycling and material characterization. The team has research experience in fibre production and processing, as well as in the morphological, thermal, chemical and mechanical characterization of fibrous and polymeric materials.
The university is interested in international collaboration at the interface of materials, textiles and design, particularly in projects addressing resource efficiency, textile recycling, sustainable material selection and the development of recyclable textile structures.
