Topic 2 – Targeting secondary sources to enhance access to raw materials
exære is seeking transnational consortium partners for RAMP Joint Call 2026, Topic 2 (secondary sources). We are looking to connect with:
Industrial waste stream holders, e.g. smelter operators, WEEE recyclers, mining/tailings operators, and bauxite residue producers who can provide characterized secondary streams (e.g. slag, leachates, acid mine drainage, red mud) containing technology-critical metals for pilot-scale adsorption trials.
Companies interested in integrating selective biosorption technology into existing recovery flowsheets.
Process design and engineering partners (companies or institutes) with expertise in hydrometallurgical process design, flowsheet integration or pilot-to-industrial scale-up, to help translate our biopolymer adsorption technology into deployable unit operations within existing or new recovery plants.
Research organisations and universities with expertise in hydrometallurgy, analytical chemistry, or circular economy systems modelling, to complement our biopolymer adsorbent development and TU Hamburg (CREM) collaboration.
Consortium co-applicants able to fulfil RAMP's eligibility requirement (≥3 partners, funding requested from ≥3 countries, ≥2 EU/associated).
We are open to leading a work package on adsorbent development and metal selectivity testing, or joining as a technology partner in a consortium already forming around secondary raw material recovery.
exære is a Hamburg-based deeptech startup developing biopolymer-based adsorbents derived from agricultural residues for the selective recovery of technology-critical metals from industrial waste streams.
The company is affiliated with CREM at Technical University Hamburg, backed by IFB Innovationsstarter Hamburg.
The founding team combines expertise in technology commercialization and patented biopolymer scale-up know-how.
