Topic 6 – Innovative approaches for analysing raw materials value chains
We are interested in joining transnational consortia as a partner responsible for sustainability assessment, the circular economy, and decision support throughout the raw materials value chain. Our expertise includes Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Techno-Economic Assessment (TEA), Life Cycle Costing (LCC), Social LCA (S-LCA), integrated sustainability assessment, and Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD).
We are particularly interested in contributing to projects addressing Topics 2–6, including secondary raw materials, recycling and recovery technologies, circular product design, resource efficiency, industrial symbiosis, and digital approaches for analysing raw material value chains. We can lead or contribute to work packages involving sustainability assessment, environmental footprinting, circularity metrics, digital decision-support tools, hotspot analysis, scenario modelling, and sustainability-driven innovation.
We welcome collaboration with universities, research organisations, industry, SMEs, public authorities, and other stakeholders to develop competitive RAMP and Horizon Europe proposals that support resilient and circular raw material systems.
The Aachen-Maastricht Institute for Biobased Materials (AMIBM), part of Maastricht University, is an internationally recognised research institute dedicated to developing sustainable materials, circular technologies, and innovative solutions that support the transition to a circular and climate-neutral economy.
Our multidisciplinary research integrates materials science, chemical engineering, biotechnology, environmental sustainability, and digital technologies to address challenges across the entire material value chain. We work closely with academic institutions, industrial partners, public organisations, and international consortia through Horizon Europe, Interreg, NWO, and other European research programmes.
